I'm Still Here
There are those who think
that they can suppress freedom.
There are those whose idea of control
is to smash anything that opposes them.
There are those who have spent
great sums of money
and enormous amounts of energy
to kill an idea.
However, once a man has tasted freedom,
no amount of pressure will ever relieve him
of that greatest of all pleasures.
It is not the province of any country, party,
belief or system. It belongs to anyone
who strives to achieve it.
Freedom burns its way
into the human soul,
never to be removed.
Freedom cannot be crushed,
broken or bought.
It must be earned.
All that to say,
“Sorry boys, I'm still here.
And I'm not going anywhere.” |
